Cinnamon Dolce Latte Cookies

One of my favorite winter drinks at Starbucks is the cinnamon dolce latte. Technically, the cinnamon dolce latte is not one of their seasonal drinks (you can get one all year long!), but I think it’s the perfect warm beverage for snowy, January days like today. It’s sweet, spicy, and caffeinated – three of my favorite things. Cookies are also a favorite of mine, so today I’m baking whole wheat cinnamon dolce latte cookies. Continue reading

DIY Vintage Snow Sled

With the holiday season fast approaching, it might be a good time to start making “the list.” No, not the one you’re sending to the North Pole, the one with all the gifts you need to buy for your family and friends this year. There always seems to be more people on my list than there is money in my bank account, making Christmastime the perfect time to DIY. Giving a handmade gift is one of the best ways to show someone that you care without breaking the bank.

Maple Apple Pie

…with a braided crust

DSC_1385What could be better than a trip to Vermont in the fall? Well, after spending some time in the kitchen this weekend, I’d venture to say an apple pie made with freshly picked Vermont apples and pure Vermont maple syrup might be even sweeter than seeing this scenic state.

Butternut Squash Soup

…with a fresh thyme crostini

What better way is there to ring in the first cozy weekend of October than with some creamy, savory butternut squash soup? There isn’t one. This is, in fact, the best way to celebrate October’s arrival. If you don’t believe me, just try it for yourself. Continue reading

DIY Painted Acorn Potpourri

DSC_0695

You know what they say. When squirrels hand you acorns, make potpourri.

Recently Apartment Therapy featured a painted acorn project that I had pinned from Home Stories A to Z last fall and was itching to do once the acorns started coming down in droves this year. I was so inspired by this adorable acorn makeover, but I knew I wanted to add my own twist to this fun and simple project. After one sniff of my newly foraged acorns, I knew what that twist needed to be: potpourri. Continue reading
